The need for a pad 6 and 7 with fixation tapes has been required in our home for a long time. At last there is now a product on the market which will offer a solution for a lot of elderly people.
Elderly people with a light physical and / or mental restriction who are incontinent now have the possibility to remain independent when going to the toilet without any loss of comfort. These residents want to remain as independent as they can for as long as possible.
I feel the new pads can be used instead of a Pull-On which means the resident will also be better financially.

When I first saw the new Attends Soft 5 pad I liked the way it retained its shape and thought it would be easier for users to apply the pad. Having a breathable textile back sheet it is a lot quieter and it feels more comfortable. The fixation tapes will help to keep the pad in place and I like the fact that it still has a white back sheet for discretion.
The current product works well and I have very few complaints about the pads. Usually complaints relate to incorrect fitting and can be more carer related than pad related.
When comparing the pad to the current Contours 5, the new Soft 5 pad looks much better both in look and feel.
The thing I like best about the new product is the softness of it.
I would definitely recommend it to my colleagues and it is nice to see product development moving forward on such a basic yet essential item.

When I first saw the new product my first impression was that the product appeared less cumbersome and was more uniformed in shape. It looked softer and the fixation system looked easier to use.
The current product works well as a standard type of pad but the new pad looks and feels better. It is more discreet and more modern.
Having been involved in the product testing the results from the test confirmed what I thought when I first saw the new pad. I visited a client after the product test and she told me that she couldn't wait for the new product to come out.
The thing I like best about the new product is the softness of the pad.
I would definitely recommend the new pad to my colleagues and I already have done so. My main objective is client comfort and discretion and the new Attends Soft 5 pad will provide this for our users on the service.

Attends 5 is very good but after trying the new product it spoilt me. The new pad was very, very good. It was more comfortable to wear and generally all round it was better.
Initially I thought the new pad was a little bit smaller and it
didn't look as though it would work. But after initially trying the pad
it didn't leak. I do get some leakage with the current Attends 5. The
shorter length of the product did not show under my clothes as I am
conscious of this.
Environmentally it is much greener. It is
smaller so there is less pad to dispose of and when I trialed the new
pad I did not use quite so many.
When I compare the old with the new pad there is no comparison. The new pad is far better. I missed the new pad as soon as I had finished the trial.
The things I liked most about the new product was the comfort, no leakage and it felt more cushioned when I sat down. I would definitely recommend the new pad to other people.

When I first saw the new products they had a new and refreshing look. We were in search of a larger range of products for the independent elderly within the home and these were perfect. We were very enthusiastic to work with Attends and evaluate the products. We evaluated the products using the following criteria:

After the test our overall impression was very good. The new products met all of our needs / criteria. However we felt the fixation tapes were not large enough and did not stick as well as we would have liked. These observations were taken seriously by Attends and the product design was adapted.
The new products are certainly as good a quality as the current products we use. Independent residents really appreciated the new product design. They managed to fit the products without any help and I would say that the new pads stimulate independence and improve self esteem.
I would certainly recommend the products to other colleagues. Like I said before the quality guarantee is the same as the current products but the new products offer a lot of possibilities for users that were not there before.

When I first saw the new product I thought they were thicker than the current products. But later it appeared that this was because the products were smaller.
In spite of the new product being smaller and narrower, the product provided the necessary protection, security and comfort as we expect from Attends. There was even sufficient leakage protection which is of course very important for the user.
Following the evaluation the results and responses were positive. The product is small but it can be placed in the resident's own underwear and has a high absorption capacity. Our residents were very satisfied with the new pads as they no longer had to wear stretch pants with the pad.
I would certainly recommend the new products to my colleagues as it can replace Pull-Ons, which is much cheaper for our residents.

When I first saw the new products I thought it was very good that the residents could wear them with their own underwear. This stimulates them to go to the toilet on their own without any help.
Having used the products and comparing them with the current products I would say that the new pads have the same absorption capacity but in a smaller product which can be placed in the residents own underwear.
The products sit more comfortably in place and provide a perfect fit. There is less leakage because of the side elastics which help to give a better fit and offers better protection. As the pads can be worn in the residents own underwear they are more discreet.
I would recommend the new products to my colleagues.

During the day I use a Contours 6 and at night I need a higher absorption capacity - Contours 7. I feel safe with both products. They provide enough protection but I always need help from a nurse to put the Contours pad on as it is not easy to do it myself.
My first impression of the new pad was that it was little, small and long with tapes.
After using the new products I thought what an evolution. The product offers the same security and protection as the current ones but it is much easier to use. With this product I can go to the toilet all by myself without any help from the nurse.
The thing I liked best about the products was the fixation tape.
I would absolutely recommend the product to other users.

I currently use Contours 5 but I need a higher absorbency. I don't want to use another product because they don't have a fixation tape and I cannot stick them in my own underwear. I have frequent leakages and as a result I never feel safe with the product.
When I first saw the new product I thought it looked good. After I had used it I was convinced because of the excellent absorption capacity. The new product offers me the best protection. I had no leakages with this product. It felt very soft and has a tape which allows me to use it with my own underwear.
I liked the absorption capacity and tape best on the new product. Yes I would recommend the new product to other users because of the good absorbency.
