What do they do and how is it better for the environment?
The pulp and tissue in Attends products are bleached with the ECF- or TCF-methods.
ECF means Elementary Chlorine Free. For this bleaching method chlorine dioxide is used.
The organic matters in the emissions (effluent) are low chlorinated and have a significantly lower environmental impact. Low chlorinated organic matters are also formed naturally and are easily biodegradable. Consequently they do not accumulate or magnify.
TCF means Totally Chlorine Free. Hydrogen peroxide and/or ozone are used with this method.
